About Us
In the picturesque part of south-eastern Moravia called Kyjovské Dolňácko lies the village of Svatobořice-Mistřín. This region is widely known not only for its excellent wines but also for its beautiful traditional costumes and vibrant folk traditions.
In this village, you can find the Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Ensemble Svatobořice-Mistřín. This is an association of dancers, singers, and musicians, which was formed in 2024 by merging two previously existing folklore groups. The older one, Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Circle was founded in 1947, while the younger one, Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Ensemble Lúčka was established in 1977.
The Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Ensemble focuses on preserving the folk traditions, songs, and customs of the home village and the region. In addition to classical stage performances of folk dances and songs, the ensemble also plays a crucial role in maintaining and observing customary events such as harvest festivals, thanksgiving celebrations, and Easter processions. Although the Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Ensemble mainly performs in its home village and nearby areas, it also delights audiences across the Czech Republic and abroad.
We offer
The Slovácký (Moravian-Slovakian) Ensemble offers various performance options, primarily concentrating on dances typical of their region, but also covering dances from nearby areas. The dance or musical performances are always accompanied by cimbalom music. The program can be tailored according to the organizers’ requirements, with a focus either on dance or music. It is also possible to have a flexible form of performance with demonstrations and teaching of individual folk dances.
